Tue Devo Phil 4:8

Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, what ever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things."

So often our moods and actions are dictated by where our minds are. In the list given by Paul I noticed that he urges us to put our mind on things that are positive and good. This is just the opposite of where our minds tend to go. I spend way too much time thinking about the problems, troubles, and negative things going on in my life and in my world. Once I understand that God is in control and that no matter what happens to me that is bad God is already working to make it turn out for my good what is the purpose of thinking about the negative. Each time this week when I start to focus on the bad or the negative I and going to say the words we often say at camp. "God is good all the time and all the time God is good." I pray that this will help me to refocus my mind on the things that are good and worth thinking about.
